Chickenshack, founded in 1994 is a housing co-op based in North Wales. It has a long standing commitment to permaculture design and has hosted many related courses, gatherings and events there since then. I am a founding member and this is my blog of some of what I have learned along the way.
View looking west. I took this today, Mid Feb, as a contrast to the shot on the website taken in Dec 94. It obviously looks very different in summer, with all the trees in full leaf, but it gives a good idea of some of the progress we have made on the land in the first decade of the co-op

I am interested in sustainable development, natural history and becoming more interested in gardening and sustainable agriculture. Not all serious! I am into humour, music and drama. I am also run a small webhosting service for community and sustainable orientated sites and occasional. I have recently got very involved with the Llanfyllin Workhouse project and am working on their fund raising team My home has been a small hill farm and housing co-op in Wales since 1994. Before that i have spent some years abroad mainly east Africa, Zimbabwe, India, Canada and the States. I was born in Wolverhampton, and grew up on a farm in Shropshire.
