I have started a feature section of the scottish painter John S Pagan, who I would like to write a biography of. I also have got a few shots of some work by a friend, Aragorn Horner who is an artist who likes to make part animated part human powered machines, interactive scultptures, made from Junk. They are always slightly anarchic in some way, they appear at festivals and outdoor events all over the place. The horse below by the wway is not one of his, if it was you would probably have to ride it or something, another friend Lisa spotted this one in NYC on a recent trip. I have also added a couple of my favourites from the National Gallery, seeing as I was looking at them recently

Bathing at Asnieres by Georges Seurat
this is a fantastic picture, it hangs in the national pertrait gallery, just off trafalgar square in Londonand its free to see it!
of course its a classic impressionist painting, that perfectly captures a lazy summers afternoon by the river.
Seurat was of the school of pointelist painters, who broke images down to points, and rather than mixing colours, breaking them down into their constituent parts. It can create a surreal or even a super-real effect. The later works by Jack Pagan were very influenced by works like this one.

coastal scene by theo van rhusselbugher, of something liek that... i just love the picture and it reminds me of wales even though i know its not of wales
