Bathing
at Asnieres by Georges Seurat
this is a fantastic picture, it hangs in the national pertrait gallery,
just off trafalgar square in Londonand its free to see it!
of course its a classic impressionist painting, that perfectly captures
a lazy summers afternoon by the river.
Seurat was of the school of pointelist painters, who broke images
down to points, and rather than mixing colours, breaking them down
into their constituent parts. It can create a surreal or even a super-real
effect. The later works by Jack Pagan were very influenced by works
like this one.

coastal scene by theo van rhusselbugher, of something liek that...
i just love the picture and it reminds me of wales even though i know
its not of wales.
